Introducing Our Keynote Speaker for the MaineAEYC Spring Conference!

We are happy to introduce Catherine Maryse Anderson as our keynote speaker for our Storytelling Conference on April 8, 2017 at Thomas College.  Register online today at 

Catherine Maryse Anderson is the Education and Community Outreach Director of Ovations Offstage at Portland Ovations. In this capacity she has designed arts education integration programs for students statewide from PreK through high school. In addition to curating the Ovations Offstage School-Time Performance Series, she also delivers in-school workshops for students and educators to connect the classroom to the performing arts and back again. Catherine also has an extensive 15-year background as a public school literacy and humanities teacher in Portland, Maine. She spent two years as a literacy coach for Portland Public Schools and led statewide symposiums on building educator capacity for cross-cultural competency in the classroom from early childcare through college.  She was a runner up for theTeaching Tolerance Educator of the Year. Catherine has been involved in ongoing performing arts projects for twenty years and is a published poet and essayist. She is also the mother of two young people of color, ages 9 and 12, who she credits with upping her game as both an educator and human being in the last 13 years.
