Community Consultation services from MaineAEYC

During the 2021-2022 school year MaineAEYC launched a new program and supported 3 communities in building relationships and strategies for collaboration between early care and education programs and school districts. We have continued to work with specific school districts, child care programs and community partners to build early childhood strategic plans, publicly funded PreK partnerships, joint professional learning opportunities and other collaborations.

Reach out to Heather Marden, MaineAEYC Co-Executive Director and Building Early Childhood Bridges coordinator, for more information.

This program supports public school administrators, child care administrators, and teachers to learn about each other’s key challenges and successes in caring for and educating children. Program participants work together to develop targeted, coordinated solutions based on the needs of children, teachers, and families.

MaineAEYC provides meeting facilitation, relationship building conversations, early childhood content expertise, strategic planning, and project oversight to help communities support young children from birth through elementary school.

The Leading Early Learning series provides elementary school administrators with opportunities to deepen their knowledge of early learning pedagogy and best practices related to supporting students and teachers across PreK-3rd Grade.  Participants engage in a variety of modes of learning, from asynchronous modules to professional learning communities to attendance at the Maine statewide early learning conference.  The series kicks off each October and concludes the following March.
